OpenAI-reported milestones, November 2023–August 2026. Bars marked + show reported lower bounds. Each date links to its own source; spacing does not represent elapsed time. These figures measure platform use, not the number of shoppers or searches.

The November 2023 milestone counted logged-in users. Later counts include logged-out use, which OpenAI identifies with browser cookies; people with multiple accounts or devices may be counted more than once. These are reported milestones with changing scope, not a consistent count of unique people. OpenAI’s counting definitions.

What the forecast means

McKinsey’s scenario for global consumer retail goods commerce, first published in October 2025 and reiterated in 2026. It excludes services and B2B commerce. This is a forecast, not current sales or a Prompeteer revenue claim.

Research and comparison are ahead of autonomous buying. In Gartner’s January 2026 U.S. survey, willingness to let AI make purchase decisions reached at most 11% across lower-stakes categories. This measures stated willingness, not actual purchases. Gartner · 322 U.S. consumers · January 2026 · published 27 May 2026.

Study context and dates

These studies cover different audiences and periods. They are not stages of a single measured funnel. The retail conversion difference is observational and does not establish causation.

Inside the report

Know what needs attention.

48 checks across five areas of website readiness. Clear findings, with missing evidence marked for review.

AEO and AEM, explained

Answer engine optimization (AEO) helps AI search systems find, understand and cite information about your business. Answer engine marketing (AEM) turns those findings into content and distribution priorities. Prompeteer brings website readiness, sampled AI visibility and a practical action plan into one workflow, with agentic commerce checks where relevant.

  • Crawler accessWhether AI crawlers can reach your website and receive its content.
  • Content readabilityWhether the page delivers readable content without relying on browser interaction.
  • Answer clarityWhether readers can find clear, useful answers to relevant questions.
  • Business identityWhether the website clearly identifies the company, its authors and its published information.
  • Agent readinessWhether relevant discovery endpoints and product information are available to automated systems.
Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the preview assess?

The administrator preview combines website readiness, priority findings, competitor context and available AI answer measurements. Each report identifies its measurement dates and any evidence still missing.

Who can access AI Discovery?

AI Discovery is currently in administrator preview for private workspace reports; its public overview and dated sample report are available to signed-out and signed-in visitors. Full private reports, AEM plans and monitoring are not available through public signup or a Pro upgrade and require an authorized workspace. Contact info@prompeteer.com to discuss availability.

How long does the report take?

The website audit usually takes 10–20 seconds. A slow run can take up to 90 seconds, with progress shown on the page. AI answer samples are collected separately and display their own status and measurement date.

What is the difference between the AEO report and the AEM action plan?

The AEO report shows the website findings and available visibility measurements. The AEM action plan turns them into prioritised work, suggested owners and verification steps. Review the plan before publishing changes, then audit the updated website.

Does a higher score guarantee more AI traffic or sales?

No. The readiness score reflects the audited website. Mentions and citations depend on the engine, question, market and date. Use answer measurements and your own traffic or conversion data to assess business outcomes.

Are my reports public?

Full reports require an authorized administrator account and the appropriate report permissions. The public page shows a dated excerpt from an audit of Prompeteer’s own website, without access to the full report.
